Privacy policy
Rynbw provides a website and embeds the Murmelt web client. The actual chat does not run through systems operated by Rynbw. This page explains that separation.

Rynbw website
You do not need a Rynbw account to use this website. Rynbw does not receive chat messages, Nostr keys, contact lists, or files from the Murmelt client. As with any website, technically necessary connection data is processed by the hosting infrastructure when pages are requested; it is not used to operate chat matching.
Local storage used by Rynbw
Rynbw stores only a timestamp in your browser so that the introductory waiting screen appears no more than once within 24 hours. This information remains on your device and contains no chat content.
Embedded Murmelt web client
When you open the chat, your browser loads https://www.murmelt.com/app in an embedded frame. This creates a direct connection from your browser to Murmelt. Murmelt's privacy policy at https://www.murmelt.com/privacy applies to that processing.
Nostr keys and messages
According to Murmelt, your key pair is generated locally in the browser and your private key is not sent to a server. Messages are end-to-end encrypted on your device using NIP-17 and then transmitted to the Nostr relays you selected. Rynbw is not involved in that transmission.
Relays, files, and other third parties
Nostr relays and the Blossom servers Murmelt uses for file attachments are independent services. You select the relays, and their operators set their own privacy and retention policies. Rynbw has no control over how these third parties process encrypted messages, public keys, status information, or files.
Deleting browser data
Murmelt states that it stores your identity, contacts, message cache, and settings locally in your browser. You can remove this information by clearing browser data. Without your own backup, doing so may also cause you to lose access to your Nostr identity.
Your rights and requests
You can submit privacy requests concerning the Rynbw website through our Contact page. For data processed by Murmelt, a Nostr relay, or a Blossom server, contact the relevant operator. Rynbw cannot access or delete data on those independent systems.
Changes to this policy
We will update this information if the Rynbw website or the way Murmelt is embedded changes. Changes to the Murmelt client or your selected relays are governed by the information from their respective operators.
